Directions: On a sheet of paper, please complete the following:
- Define philosophy & logic (p. 135)
- Name the 3 great Greek philosophers (pp. 135-137)
- Include at least 3 important facts about each philosopher (major beliefs, accomplishments, etc.)
- 1 picture (in color) that relates to each philosopher – total of 3 pics

- Contributions of Greek Culture to Western Civilization
Directions: On a sheet of paper, please complete the following:
- 8 Categories: Write the major contribution of each person or thing in the category.
- Include a picture (in color) for each category (minimum of 8 pictures).
Categories of Contributions:
1. Drama: Aeschylus, Sophocles (p.132)
2. Poetry: Homer (p.108)
3. History: Herodotus, Thucydides (p.137, 138)
4. Athletics: Olympics, Pentathlon (p.134)

- Athenian Government Reformers Worksheet - use pp. 118-119 of text. Learn about the changes that these four leaders brought about which steered Athens toward democracy.
- Start Comparison of Life in Two City-States: Athens & Sparta. You will summarize government, economy, education, and the status of women and slaves for both Athens and Sparta. If you were absent, you will need to borrow the reading packets (TO BE RETURNED!) in order to complete the worksheet. You may also use your text pp. 115-119.

- Due Thurs 2/12: Create a new title page for this unit of study. To receive a full 10 pts, you must have the following on your title page:
· Prominently (clearly and largely) display the title: “Ancient Greece: Classical Civilization”.
· Select a theme from one of the seven listed on p. 104 and p. 128. Include a visual that illustrates that theme. The graphic may be computer-generated or hand-drawn. You must include a caption that decribes the visual.
· In color – at least 5 colors used for the title page.
